We arrived home safe and sound!

I missed my home so much after the 5days away from home! I was so tired and so my husband and son for our long trip to Washington and going back here in Tennessee. It was estimated 1600+ miles all the way. It was tiring yet though we had fun along the way, we took our time to drive and stop by most of the attractions in 3 states... I have so much pictures taken haha! atleast because I have no time to really stop on gift shops to shop something! I will share here some of my shots eventually!

weight loss pill i need..

I really want to loss weight! Though I may not be as slim as before, but at least shed off some pounds. I need to exercise and control my diet. I also consider taking diet pills. All about DC trip!

This week i am going to post all about our trip here in Washington, honestly not in the world i am thinking of going here! but circumstances permitted us to come so might as well take our vacation here right now. We will be staying here for 5days. Since we decided to drive all the way here, our trip was really fun. We've been by Knoxville Tenn., one of the biggest cities in Tennessee and also the close by attractions like, Pigeon Forge and Gutenberg. Then we've been by in Virginia and we stop a hotel there for a night rest, then drove again all the way to our destination, then Largo Maryland where our hotel is. On the roads you will really amazed of the beautiful scenic views with all the colorful trees and mountains. The ENDLESS CAVERNS is what breath taking i took some videos of it! haha for souvenir! Ok that's all for now... will keep updated here.

We're' here in DC now...

After long drive coming here in Washington thank Jah we arrived sound and safe. I'm so proud to our son because he was doing so well along the way, he didn't complain or what so ever not after last 20minutes before we went to the hotels. I'm glad also that despite of a very long drive of 12hours ( but we decided to take a rest and just took 6hours and continue the next day), I didn't feel bad at all other than my butt numb haha. Fortunate I'm not the type of getting a motion sickness when travelling. I loved to travel i guess that's the reason. I get so excited to go to other place and i just enjoy my self looking the scenery's! That's what i did, lots of scenic views i took! I will still taking more photos in the rest of our stay here at DC!!

I'm planning to take online education

Online Education now a days is gaining in popularity, it's a practical way when you are working full time or a busy mom. It's chilly!

We got rain all day everything is soaking wet! what a yucky day ! although we need the rain. Soooo cold grrrrrrr....... but my son he is warm even our air condition is in high level... good gracious! this is the side effect of me craving ice when i was pregnant to him...haha! Funny though because whenever we get all chilled he still warmth and get sweaty that's why we hardly turn ON the heat. Washington D.C....

We probably going to Washington D.C. next week for my embassy thing. It's kinda surprised for us but we have no choice i need to appear there in person that's the new policy right now. I need to loss weight!

I promised to my myself that after my pregnancy i will try to cut back my diet since i eat a lot and i gain weight easily. So my option are exercise and diet pills, but i am not into exercise much so i thought i just take weight loss pills so i will see the result right away. After a long day at the medical clinic i was so hungry and exhausted and i need to refuel my self by taking heavy meal at lunch! yep, if i am tired all i need to do is to eat then I'll be fine otherwise i become mean person, very cranky haha! that's me! Yea you heard it tomorrow is the day of my first ob appointment and i am excited for the first time i will take my ultrasound for our baby. Sore

I am so sore right now because of what we did yesterday we went out hiking at old stone fort a 20 minutes drive historical park here in our place. The place was so huge and wide it was the exact place of Indians settlers way long time ago. Although it was fun to hike and see all those remains of indian people they have the museums that archeologist found fossils but surely it was tiring. It is 3miles by foot traffic but we only cut across after a mile otherwise i can't walk today!!! No wonder no strollers recommended because the path ways are rocky and woody but still we brought son's stroller otherwise we couldn't make it so far! Well today i felt so sore in my legs and hips! guess getting old and apparently I'm not use of a lot of walking anymore compare when way back in the Philippines... ouch!!!

Tuesday im off...

I am off for blogging Tuesday next week because husband take me to my OBGYN its my first appointment! and i think we're going to be for awhile there. It's kinda 30 minutes drive, plus traffic and everything. I'm so happy!

Can't ask for more right now! lately i was really wanting a lappy toppy and asked husband for one! he promised to have it early next year on our anniv maybe, he said just need to be patient. I said i will patiently await for it, but blessing in disguised son's lolo is a very generous and thoughtful soul, when he knew last couple of days that i am wanting a laptop... without hesitation he gave us one right now! today husband carrying it with him after work. I was still shock and surprise he's giving us so easy. I am so happy that i got a lappy toppy already that i know i can really use it for my blogging career. I thank him so much he is so good to me, he treat me as his own daughter! So blessed to have a parent in law like them. Thanks Dad!!!

I'm always looking forward to have a vacation with my family and loved ones. In this very busy life, it would be great if ones in a while we are able to unwind and relax. My breakfast!

This was my breakfast, scrabble egg, sausage and garlic rice with hot cappuccino... ummm yummy! honestly, it's the first time i made typical fully loaded Filipino breakfast. I usually cook pancakes, biscuit &gravy, or premade breakfast or we just eat cereal in the morning and kinda use to it already. I really loved this shot, i took it one day we were at the lake. The largest lake here our place, kinda secluded and private the area we been to. But on the other side of the lakes lots of people always camping around. Son was so happy seeing the water, that's Dada held him up because he is determined to go in the water i guess he wants to take a swim haha! I haven't been to my computer most of the day last weekend because i spent much time with my husband and son. I'm not talking pinoy version though... the original is what I'm trying to share.haha! well i am a fan for a long time now, ever since i was in the Philippines. The latest Survivor started just about the same with our survivor Philippines. It shows every Thursday night but not so good i missed it especially we have to attend meeting that every night. World's Steepest Incline

The world's steepest incline is more than 100 year old Incline Railroad to the top of Lookout Mountain. With a 75 degree incline and almost a mile of track, this is the steepest railway in the world. As you riding on the train going to the peak of the mountain you find yourself almost falling on other people because of the steep incline. Yet it is really fun to load onto the train going to the top! On the top you can view six states from the 3-story observation platform around Tennessee. The view from lookout mountain was spectacular and you will really have fun riding up and down. Make sure to bring sweater because the ride up is chilly!

Bad Weather

It is raining right now and scary thunder and lightning. Although we need this rain so bad because the past few months we have not get any heavy rain at all el nino kaya! But, still i really don't like when bad weather strikes here because we always watch out for tornadoe warning! gushhh can't help my heart throbbing, you can hear loud noises of the thunder yikes!! oh my goodness. i wish husband is by my side now he is at work huhuhuhu i feel relieve when he's with me. oh well, i guess i just bear this agony of mine hope the rain go away soon!!

Going to Florida!!

Husband and I are planning for a Florida vacation this coming November. Actually, we've been planning for this a year ago but because of circumstances, it was always postponed. My husband's relatives are in Florida, it will be a wonderful reunion for all of us. It will also be their first time to see our son. But to be honest, do you know what excites me when I think about our trip? No other than my very first Disney Adventure tour!!! I'm so excited for myself and for my baby. Going to Disneyland is my childhood dream,lol!

Yema

I am craving yema right now, it is a Filipino dessert or custard candy. When i was a kid i remembered eating yema all the time. I have an aunt that her business (side line) is making different kinds of candies or (panghimagas). And when growing up, we usually dripping by to st. maria just to buy yemas, polvoron, coconut candies, tarts and all that kinda stuff! haha. Well anyway back to yema... Now that I have my little boy, I realized how fun and colorful a child's world is! Every time I read him a book, I can see he's round blue eyes spark as if the drawings encrypted were alive to him. I just finished viewing photos of my cousin's wedding yesterday and 'm happy seeing my relatives and family in the pictures! plus not to mention the food even though I'm not there present with them, i still feel part of the celebration by watching all their happy faces and fun over there. Sure my cousin is happy now that he and his wife are together and no man can put them apart! congratulation and best wishes again to you guys!!

Letchon Kawali

Letchon Kawali for lunch yum yum! I was craving letchon so bad, but i donnu where the heck i could buy letchon in Tennessee! anybody can help? hehe. Anyway the other day I was watching cooking video at youtube and letchon kawali is one of the featured dish so i am really excited to make one. Finally yesterday i boiled the pork liempo(the procedure is boiled and set aside overnight). Then i fried today of course with rice and soysauce/vinegar on the side. Hmmmm delish! I definitely cook some more next time!

I just sent acne treatment!

I just sent a package to my family in the Philippines 3 weeks ago. One of the things i sent was an acne treatment for my brother because he has a problem with pimples lately and it became a concern to all of us. He's been to a dermatologist but yet nothing happen, the acne just become worst and to think he spent to much then. Rare Orchid Saved From Extinction

For 50 years the only lady’s-slipper orchid (Cypripedium calceolus) growing wild in Britain was kept under 24-hour guard to prevent its extinction. The beautiful maroon-and-yellow orchid was so highly prized by the Victorians and succeeding generations that by the 1950’s, it had been "picked to death," and just one plant remained. Botanists tried to produce seedlings from this North Yorkshire plant, but its infrequent flowering made natural pollination impossible. However, in the early 1990’s, scientists at Kew Gardens, London, discovered a method called micropropagation, which enabled them to cultivate new plants from seeds obtained by hand-pollinating the flowers. These plants were then transferred to their natural limestone habitats, with the result that between 200 and 300 lady’s-slipper orchids are now growing in the north of England. One site is on view to the public, but the rest remain in secret locations to ensure their protection, reports The Independent of London, as "scientists continue to work on making them hardy enough to cope with pests and fungi."

Honey—A Sweet Healer

SOME medical researchers are excited about the potent antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties of honey. The Globe and Mail newspaper of Canada reports: "Unlike the arsenal of sophisticated antibiotics that have hit a wall against antibiotic-resistant superbugs, honey is able to do battle with at least some of them when it comes to infected wounds."

What is in honey that gives it the ability to affect healing? The answer involves the worker bee that gathers nectar from flowers. The bee’s saliva contains glucose-oxidase, a key enzyme that breaks down the glucose in the nectar. A by-product of this breakdown is hydrogen peroxide, which is traditionally used to clean and disinfect wounds. Normally, the effect of hydrogen peroxide when placed on a wound is short-lived; but with honey, the effect is different. "Once on a wound, the honey is somewhat diluted by the body’s fluids, and this decreases the natural acidity of honey," says the Globe report. The enzyme goes into action in this less acidic environment. The breakdown of the sugar in honey is slow and constant. This process slowly releases hydrogen peroxide in amounts big enough to kill local bacteria while not adversely affecting surrounding healthy tissue.

Honey has several characteristics that can affect wound healing, according to the Globe. "A thin layer of honey provides a moist environment that protects the skin and prevents a hard scab from forming. Honey stimulates the growth and formation of new blood capillaries and triggers the cells that produce new skin to grow." In addition, anti-oxidants in the honey possess an anti-inflammatory action that helps "reduce swelling, improve circulation and keep the wound from ‘weeping.’"

"Honey isn’t for everybody, however," cautions the report. It is estimated that botulism spores are present in up to 5 percent of honey. Such agencies as Health Canada’s Botulism Reference Service as well as pediatric societies advise against giving honey to children under one year of age because "infants have not yet developed sufficient intestinal microflora to protect them from the bacterium."

The Impressive Tule Tree

The tallest tree in the world are the redwoods of California, reaching heights of 360 feet or more. However, the Mexican cypress, a relative of the sequoia, holds the record for circumference. The most famous specimen of this tree is located eight miles east of the city of Oaxaca, Mexico, in the town of Santa Maria del Tule. It is known as the Tule tree. Its base measures an impressive 150 feet. To give you an idea of its size, it would take at least 30 people standing with arms outstretched to encircle the buttressed trunk, and over 500 could find refuge in its shade!

Then Tule tree is estimated to be over 2,000 years old. When it was pruned in 1996, ten tons of deadwood was removed. Locals call the tree El Gigante (the Giant). In Mexico this species is known as the ahuehuete, which in the Nahuatl language means "old one of water," as it generally grows by water or in swampy places.

Chewing Gum
