I just wanna share this important articles that i've read and i'm sure even though we are all aware of it already yet keep in mind we have to have extra pre cautionary measure you know.

▪ In the United States, motor-vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among youths from 5 to 24 years of age.

▪ In Japan, road accidents are responsible for more than twice as many deaths as breast cancer and kill four times as many people as prostate cancer.

▪ In Europe, car accidents account for four times as many deaths as homicides do.

THESE alarming statistics highlight one of the inherent dangers of traveling by automobile—speed can kill. And speed with alcohol murders. Thankfully, the risk of accident and injury can be reduced. How is that possible?

Cultivating safe driving habits is a good place to start. Some safety experts claim that 9 out of 10 accidents could be prevented or avoided. Exceeding the posted speed limit, weaving in and out of traffic, tailgating, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and driving a poorly maintained car are just a few examples of unsafe driving habits. Respect for life and love for our fellowman should move us to adopt a cautious and responsible attitude toward operating a motor vehicle.

Seat belts are another simple, but often overlooked, safety measure. According to Tim Hurd, a spokesman for the U.S. Department of Transportation, “the safety belt is the most effective way to save your life in a crash. It doubles the likelihood of survival.” For the youngest passengers, the survival rate is nearly tripled if they use child safety seats.

In spite of this, surveys indicate that nearly a third of the occupants of passenger vehicles in the United States do not use seat belts. As a parent, do you see to it that your children are safely strapped into their seats before venturing out? The time that it takes to buckle up is well worth it.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recommends: “Children in rear-facing child seats should not be placed in the front seat of cars equipped with passenger-side air bags. The impact of a deploying air bag striking a rear-facing child seat could result in injury to the child.”

5 days more!

Yikes! I can't say an exact word to describe that 2009 is almost over just 5 more days to go and it's officially 2010! Can you believe that? how it happen! lol. Sure time flies so so fast this moment in time. Anyway, whatever it is am looking forward for year 2010 it is another best or worst year to come for all of us.

On the second note, tomorrow Kurdapya is happy to help her bro and sissy in-law on their new house they just move in today and still there are so many things to work on their newly build and furnish house that husband build along with guys of course. So atleast before the year end i get to help them in my own lil way haha...!

Allergic?

Was looking for some bargains particularly on allergy bedding because talking about allergies, my sister has it all. I mean she has her asthma, allergic rhinitis and stuff like that. Those dust mites, pollens and allergens makes her go crazy, lol! So anyway since I found great bargains at one of my fave online store, might as well grab some bedding and hopefully send it home soon. It'll be really healthy for her and to those people with allergies too.

Been Anxious

But now is over because finally after 48years of waiting my balikbayan box just arrived last night at our house in zambo. We're all anticipating the box to get there, my sister actually called to their main office few time but no one answer but i tried to check the other day luckily someone answered my calls and she told me guaranteed before the 25th of December u know CT. So we waited and waited for couple of days and at last sissy off messages me that they can't wait to tear open the box last night, lol! Oh well, am happy now!

Just got home from Home Depot and Lowes and quite sleepy already, guess it's because am tired of walking, lol! Anyway, it's weekend again, thought of going to the mall tomorrow and have some joyride after the meeting. I'll try to look for some spa filters because I saw unbelievable discounts at my fave online store, just want to compare the price though. You know, finding best buys is a serious job for me, haha! During winter months most of us just want to stay indoors and to laze around in bed. I'm guilty actually, that's why I hate cold weather because it makes me feel tired and sleepy. Skiing, wanna try?

It's one of the many things I've never tried yet. Back home before, when winter was impossible, thought will never see someone ski with my own eyes. But now, during this season, even kids at the neighborhood ski with their own improvised snowboards. They seem so happy every time they go up, down, round and round the slopes. I also heard that many people travel miles away to experience such an adrenalin rush that comes from skiing. Why not? For instance the 2009 Ski in Argentina is fast approaching and many enthusiast across the world wanna participate.

they excited!

Am talking about the balikbayan box that i sent to my family in pinas because last time i track it it's in Manila already so any moment it will arrive to my family because it said "before Christmas time guaranteed to arrived", haha i never missed that statement when i drop the box a month ago! So anyhow am anxious as well because am pretty sure they all enjoy my gifts that i gave each and everyone of them. Hope they all like it especially the goodies i enclosed! I told them when they open it we'll chat with webcam so i could see their faces, lol!

Just got my hair done yesterday and am loving it, lol! How about you, how's your weekend guys? Had a makeover too? Anyway, before going to bed tonight, I need to check some modern furniturefirst. Cause really there's a cute little sofa I saw at Yoville and am wondering if there's something like that in real life. How silly me, you bet!

Back home in the Philippines I have a couple of friends who got married just recently. I'm glad they always keep me updated with their lives, the joy they feel as newly weds and sharing pictures as well. I wish them all the best, oh, and of course I can't wait for them to get pregnant, haha! Nothing beats being a mommy, I always tell them that.

By the way, speaking of such, I almost forget to check on new lightweight strollers for the baby girl. Alexa is growing up so fast, she's so big now. All the while I thought the old one we have here is good enough but apparently we need another. I guess full featured strollers would be better since it's more sturdy, convenient and versatile. And it has a platform where the big brother can ride, cool!

World's largest flower

The largest flower in the world, is the rafflesia arnoldi, weighs 7 kg (15 pounds) and grows only on the Sumatra island of Indonesia. Its petals grow to metre (1,6 feet) long and 2,5 cm (1 inch) thick. There are 16 species of rafflesia, found in Sumatra, Malaysia and Borneo.
